I guess the minorities that have been discriminated against the most can now discriminate against the ones who only ranked second.

Well now, if the Cherokee nation indeed has an atonomous government, why shouldn't they be allowed to vote out non-native people who are a drain to their resources? It was a nice gesture and all for them to include the people that they had inslaved, but they should have put a generational time limit on it. Now, since the Seminoles did not fair to well when they tried to do it, it should prove interesting to see if it works for the Cherokees.

But let's think of this on a larger scale... like in our country as a whole.... expand on that logic Lynelle....

Isn't that what our country is already doing with its attempts at immigration control? Root out the non-citizens that are a drain on the country's resources.

This may be narrow-minded, but if the Cherokees have their own "government" system in place, shouldn't they be allowed to make the laws they want? Granted, the last time a nation tried this it wasn't well received and the changes were revoked, but still. I think they should have the ability to make their own governmental decisions based on their governmental structure.

When I think of immigrants I automatically think of the people that come over here and work their butts off to support their families (no matter what country they are from).... I don't necessarily think of people that are or have been inslaved and are draining our resources.....

That may be, but there is a clear distinction between immigrants that are here and are citizens and immigrants that are here illegally.

If I need to make it plainly obvious... I'm sick of all this apologizing for slavery crap!

If you want an apology then go back the country that you think you belong to!! You nor your parents nor your grandparents are or were slaves. No one living today had anything to do with slavery.

How often does the US ask Japan for apologies for attacking us.... how often does American ask for an apology from Mexico... or Mexico ask for an apology from the US... have I missed something... is the Jewish nation still asking for apologies from Germany??

Ok, it feels better to get that rant over with!!

Coorelation.... Indian's kicked former slaves and/or decendants that had been allowed to become citizens out of their "nation"...... American kicks former slaves and/or decendants that had been allowed to become citizens out of their nation.

I was just tired of hearing the new stories about slavery and VA having to apologize for it. If you want to be a US citizen than shut up... be GRATEFUL that you were born here no matter what your ancestor's had to go through in order for you to have that privilage.

If you want to keep complaining then go back to the "mother land".

The majority of this nation's population has family in their ancestory that immigrated here long ago. They didn't have very nice lives either... I'm not still complaining to England for their religious persecution that drove people across the sea to find a new place to live... I'm thankful!!

If you want to get down to complaining about slavery.. I don't hear the Jews complaining to Egypt for the centuries that they were enslaved there!
