If I remember the article, the Cherokees just want the non-indians off the books. They don't have to leave the country. ANd actually, it's a drain on us since we subsidize all their freebees..like medical care. It may be an attempt to NOT have to pay out the gambling bennies too. I know that with the Mohawk Nation every person that is on the books gets a nice check yearly from the casino's.
